14 October 2006 New Formula VigRX Supplement Released by George Atkinson
When penis pills were first introduced to the market, it wasn't unusual for the manufacturers to make all sorts of wild promises about their products. Claims that herbal preparations could enlarge the penis by several inches and turn any man into a super-stud overnight were the norm. But over the last few years, the claims made about penis pills have to a large extent been toned down, focusing instead on what they can deliver, rather than what men might hope they can deliver. This is most evident in the fact that formulations are now marketed as "penis enhancement" products, rather than "penis enlargement" products. The penis pill industry has, to some extent, been forced to get its act together. Negative publicity about the ingredients in the pills, credit card billing woes and general questions about the effectiveness of the formulations have forced the manufacturers to take a long, hard look at what they're selling to Joe Public. Recognizing this, and wanting to bring additional credibility to its products, Albion Medical has relaunched their VigRX supplement under the moniker VigRX Plus. Albion Medical say the new formulation will deliver; "bigger, harder, longer lasting erections, increased sexual stamina and more powerful, intense orgasms." Most men would be pretty happy to achieve those sorts of outcomes and Albion say it's all possible thanks to the addition of three new ingredients into the formulation. The new ingredients make for interesting reading. One of them is Bioperine (Piper nigrum), which Albion says will increase the absorption rates of the other ingredients in the supplement. This actually makes some sense, as it's often the case that many ingredients in herbal supplements pass out of the body before they can be fully absorbed. They've also added Damiana (Turnera aphrodisiaca), which has long been associated with sexual function in men and women. Herbal medicine practitioners claim that Damiana can help treat low energy levels, frigidity, impotency, infertility and inflammation of the prostate. Albion says it will increase sexual stamina, improve erectile function and enhance orgasms. While there haven't been any clinical studies on humans to test Damiana's effectiveness, studies on mice have shown an increase in sexual activity. The other ingredient to go into the new formulation is Goathead, also known as Puncture Vine (Tribulus terrestris). Goathead has a long history in India, where it has been used for hundreds of years as a general tonic and aphrodisiac. Recent studies suggest that Goathead extract does increase testosterone levels (by boosting luteinizing hormone activity), leading some to believe it is a useful supplement for building muscle and increasing sex drive. The active chemical in Goathead is protodioscin, a cousin to Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which has been shown to enhance sexual activity and erectile function - in, you guessed it, mice. In light of the paucity of human studies about the effects of these ingredients, one has to make a somewhat tenuous link between the rodent studies - which appear to be positive - and the possible effects in humans. To help establish VigRX Plus's credentials, Albion cites a naturopath, who said the new formulation; "produced noticeable results after the first day. My erection was firmer and longer-lasting, my libido was enhanced and the volume and duration of my ejaculation was increased. After two weeks of using the product, I noticed a sustained increase in my size when flaccid - perhaps a half inch or so." Given that many men are seeking an increase in flaccid size, this is an important point and it appears that flaccid enlargement might be achievable with the new formulation.
